Project Directories
Each project is provided a directory shared by the project to store data such as source code, binaries, and scripts. Project directories are located in an NFS that is accessible from all NCCS resources as
/ccs/proj/
By default, project directories are created with 770 permissions and the project ID group as the group owner.
Because the NFS servers are outside each NCCS HPC system, NFS does not provide the highest performance. For fast file access, see the system’s work directory entry.
Each project directory has a default storage limit of 50 GB. To request an increased quota, please submit the special request form for review.
Each project is also provided a large temporary area in the center wide file system. The area can be accessed through:
/tmp/proj/projectID
The area is not backed-up; users are responsible for backing up data to the HPSS. For more information on the temporary project area please see the work directory page.
